THERAPIST CAREERS

UCP Therapy Services

Our mission at UCP is to empower children with and without disabilities to achieve their potential by providing individualized support, education, and therapy services in an inclusive environment. When you join UCP of Central Florida, you partner with a team that is making a positive impact on the futures of our children.

For over 60 years, we have been dedicated to enriching the lives of children of all abilities across Central Florida. We provide individualized Support, Education, and Therapy services to thousands of children at 8 campuses in Downtown Orlando, East Orlando (near UCF), Kissimmee, Pine Hills, Lake Mary, and Winter Garden.

Our UCP Charter Schools and UCP Outpatient Clinics have over 100 therapy team members & contractors. Our UCP Charter Schools are very unique! We utilize educationally relevant therapy as a part of a student’s overall Individual Education Plan, or IEP. Our UCP Outpatient Clinics, serving patients from birth to 21, are located at the same campuses allowing us to offer a medical model of therapy for clients that need additional services and support all at one convenient location.

Our holistic and interdisciplinary approach to therapy includes services provided by:

  • Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP)

  • Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA)

  • Speech Therapists

  • Physical Therapists (PT)

  • Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA)

  • Occupational Therapists (OT)

  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA)

There are opportunities for full-time, part-time, seasonal/summer, and PRN at our campuses throughout Central Florida in Downtown Orlando, East Orlando (near UCF), Kissimmee, Pine Hills, Lake Mary, and Winter Garden.

UCP uses a variety of service delivery models to help students unlock their potential, including individual, group, consultation, in-classroom, and out-of-classroom sessions. However, we believe that the push-in, or inclusion, model is the most effective model to help most of our students. These in-class services are a product of collaboration between our therapists and our teachers, & classroom staff. This integrative model increases coordination and provides a more impactful experience for our students.

Research shows that results improve in the classroom when therapists model and instruct on the implementation of recommended techniques, accommodations, and modifications. Our therapists also assist in the use and selection of functional mobility equipment (including transfer and positioning techniques), and assistive, adaptive, and augmentative communication devices.
